On 80m, last night, I got two decodes which only I heard:

1714 -20 4.3 3.594105 -1 R56ZDJ HQ72 23

0316 -19 2.8 3.594102 0 JM9BQV OC99 7

These must be mistakes HQ72 is on the east coast of greenland, and OC99 is in the Southern Oceans! And, further, I am the only person to have heard either.

But how can this happen? I thought WSPR was heavily error-corrected, and that the possibility of a decode with an error was virtually zero?

1500km "hearing" on the 817 and a piece of wire is fabulous. 900 km "heard" on 500mW and the same piece of wire is even more so.
