Hi,
I'm new to WSPR. Got it up and running on the K3 #24 plus Dipole late last week.
I am curious why there is such a wide range of power levels being used. I see everything from < 30 dBm to 53 dBm. Of course, there is no question on what is legal except for that non-interference thing. Just thought the idea was "weak signal" propagation rather than 100-watt class power being used.
Don't get me wrong. I don't see mainstream use except around 5-20 watts. But there are a few very bright displays on the WSPR spectrum on different bands.
Are there any guidelines for power levels, or is it every ham for him/herself?
Thanks and 73,
