Stepped Attenuator

Larry AC7SM asked for any links to homebrew attenuators.

Well Elecraft fit in there somewhere and they make some really nice mini kits as well as the excellent K2 and K3.

Check out the AT1 41 dB HF/VHF Switched Attenuator kit at

Pretty sweet for WSPR if you have a radio that can already go down to 2W.

If on the otherhand you can't get the fine power control needed from you radio how about using a directional coupler with a dummy load with the stepped attenuator (CP1 and DL1).

I'm being really careful about calculating miles/W until I get the power control calibrated and the feeder measured.

I haven't switched the amp on in weeks!
