Audio Board Selection

I am having a problem with my Win 7 computer with a Realtek on board card, and a Sound Blaster Live external USB card. Over the years I have always used the external card for digital modes and the onboard card for normal computer use. It has always worked with HRD and MixW. The normal computer sounds i.e.; YouTube, Windows, or CD music were kept separate.

When using WSPR this is not the case for me. I select the external USB sound card in WSPR and if the computer default sound card is set to the internal sound card WSPR will try to use the default card. With HRD this is not the case. It uses the sound card selected within its program settings.

Am I overlooking something in Win 7 or is this the way WSPR works? I don’t have a machine that runs XP anymore. I am not sure if WSPR and XP had this sound card issue. If this is the case with WSPR I will have to use a separate computer so as not to constantly fight the audio settings.

Thanks Ron
