3.5MHz and the N.Pacific Jetstream

I have begun gathering the data for a comparison study of 3.5MHz propagation with respect to potential ionospheric forcing attributable to the North Pacific jetstream. My suspicion is that jetstream forcing may be a contributing factor to determining the characteristics of F2 propagation paths from Hawaii to North America and from Hawaii to Japan.

The comparison will be of SNR reports of my 5-watt transmissions from various locations in Japan and North America.

I thought of using the SNR of stations receiver here in Honolulu but that is problematical due to the high noise levels in my urban location. What may be possible here is a rudimentary charting of relative D-region absorption using the skywave signal from WWVH some 100km away on the island of Kauai. That data might also prove useful.

I'm hoping I will have the discipline to carry this study forward and the presence of mind to derive some conclusions.
