Using WSPR for receive only near 500 khz on a nonstandard frequency

Last night I was trying to use WSPR 2.0 to receive on 495.9kc. I noticed that most of the stateside stations on 600m were on this frequency. For some reason, I never could get my WSPR interface to report 495.9 as the freq I was listening on. Instead it was always something like 497.4.

Is there some secret to making this work?

It may not make any difference but since LF and VLF are lumped together into a single category and there are multiple frequencies already in use depending on the band, I was afraid that maybe some of the back end processing of any data I reported would go unaccounted for it the frequencies did not match.

I am currently running WSPR on 495.9 dial freq in RX mode and if you look at the map or activity page, 497.4 is being reported as my listening freq. Current time is 20:16 z on 3/2/12 and I plan on leaving it running tonight.. I'm hoping maybe someone can ID the problem if there really is one.

What am I doing wrong? Should I worry about the dial freq within WSPR when I am only receiving?

thanks,
