WSPR Sostware - TX fails after 3 hours although RF is still output.

When I first start to run wspr, I see on wspr.net that I am both decoding and being heard by other stations. After about 3 hours running, I see that although I am hearing many stations, no one - not even the guy in the next town is hearing me. Checking, I find that I am still transmitting OK. I have a power meter in the antenna feed and can see that I am still pushing 4.5 to 5 watts into the antenna system. I have run as long as 24 hours and found that during the whole period, I was hearing plenty, but no one was hearing me although I was still putting RF on the antenna when the WSPR software transmitted. Is it possible that the application becomes corrupted in some way on my system and I end up transmitting junk which of course would be heard but not decoded? If I close out the WSPR software and restart it, I get another 3 hours or so of people hearing me and then nothing as before.
I'm running the wspr sw on Win XP on a Dell with a 1.6 Mhz processor. No other apps are running when I run wspr.

Any ideas, suggestions would be welcome.
