central USA not good for dx

Just got started receiving wspr stuff. I figure if I can receive I can xmit so I'm in no hurry to xmit.

Anyway, after running wspr on several bands I see a common theme. If you are in someplace central like Texas you are at a disadvantage working DX compared to the coasts. Not sure if this is related to the optimum skip length difference or if this is more attenuation over land.

So now I have an excuse for never getting DXCC after having been a ham since 1964. I need to move to the East Coast or CA if I want to work DX.
