Recommended hardware for dedicated WSPR stations, Tx and Rx

I just heard about WSPR earlier this week and have an Rx station up on 30m as of last night. I've already got some impressive DX for my humble station! :-)

I'm interested in setting up a dedicated WSPR rig so I don't tie up my FT-920, preferably something that consumes a little less power on Rx. I have an RPi running as a household server that I'd love to use for this. I've seen the WsprryPi stuff by JamesP6000 [1] (awesome hack, BTW), but that's Tx only. While looking for LPFs for that, I found the Ultimate3 [2] which is also Tx only, but is completely self contained and pretty darn inexpensive. Does anyone have any experience with the Ultimate3? Is it any good?

Are there any recommended QRP transceiver kits that I could connect to a USB sound card to get both Tx and Rx into my RPi? Simple, crystal controlled would obviously be fine; I'm not looking for agility here, this would be a dedicated rig with its own antenna.
