High Altitude Balloon: PS-31 launched Jan 23

Another "party" balloon in the PicoSpace series by VK3YT was launched successfully this morning in VK. It gained altitude quickly and has traveled SE from Melbourne across Tasmania and is now in the southern ocean between VK and ZL.

Tracking : http://spacenear.us/tracker/fullscreen.php?filter=PS-31

There are some differences between this payload and the previous one:

Frequencies : changed to allow reception of WSPR and JT9 without re-tuning the radio ...

30m 10.1387 (standard WSPR dial freqnency)
- WSPR offset varies randomly in the normal segment 1400 to 1600Hz
- JT9 offset is fixed at 1000Hz on the 'waterfall' display

20m 14.0956 (standard WSPR dial frequency)
- WSPR offset varies randomly in the normal segment 1400 to 1600Hz
- JT9 offset is fixed at 1000Hz on the 'waterfall' display

Transmission schedule : (starting minute - band - modes)

:00 - 30m - WSPR then 2 blocks of JT9 telemetry
:10 - 20m - WSPR then 2 blocks of JT9 telemetry
:20 - 30m - WSPR then 2 blocks of JT9 telemetry
:30 - 20m - WSPR then 2 blocks of JT9 telemetry
:40 - 30m - WSPR then 2 blocks of JT9 telemetry
:50 - 20m - WSPR then 2 blocks of JT9 telemetry
