What's the difference between WSPR 2.0 and WSPR-X?

Can someone tell me exactly what the difference between WSPR 2.0 and WSPR-X?

I'm really new to WSPR. I'm currently running WSPR 2.0 under Windows 7 through an Icom IC-7100.

Are they cross-compatible?
