WSJT-X 1.8 Band Hopping

Re: WSJT-X 1.8 in WSPR Mode (monitoring only with WSJT-X frequency control)

According to the local help :
Depending on your station and antenna setup, band changes might require other switching
besides retuning your radio. To make this possible in an automated way, whenever WSJT-X
executes a successful band-change command to a CAT-controlled radio, it looks for a file
named "user_hardware.bat", "user_hardware.cmd", "user_hardware.exe", or "user_hardware"
in the working directory. If one of these is found, WSJT-X tries to execute the command
"user_hardware nnn".
On my Windows system WSJT-X executes the command (for example)
"C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe /c C:\WSJT\wsjtx\bin\user_hardware.bat 160"
which I use to switch antennas with wavelengths longer than 80m.

However this only seems to work when "Band Hopping" is enabled and not when I manually
change band.

Is this normal behaviour?

Would it be useful if the command was executed with any change of band so
that it would never be necessary to manually run a program or flick a mechanical
switch to change antennas ?
