Copy and pasting data base inquiries to Excel problem with numbers

This topic has been touched on but I can't find any resolution. I'm trying to do some data analysis of spots in Excel. I do an inquiry in the data base. I copy and paste the date to Excel (2016). The cells end up with numbers that are not manipulatable because they are really text. The LEN (Length Command) says there are two extra characters in the cell. Excel's CLEAN command doesn't remove the extra characters which is a necessary step to convert to a number. All the techniques I've found to convert the text representation of a number to an actual number such as copy and paste including multiplication by one has failed.

Can someone share the specific details of how to copy and paste the data from a WSPR inquiry into Excel and have numbers be numbers rather than text?

Thanks in advance,
